Outside Cut
With the ball just in front and between your stance:
- Bring your dribbling foot above and alongside the ball.
- Flex your ankle and use the outside arch of your foot.
- Chop down on the inside of the ball, cutting it sharply out away from your body.
- Accelerate in new direction, using good running with the ball technique.
Inside Cut
With the ball just in front and outside your stance:
- Reach over the top of the ball – from inside to out – with your dribbling foot.
- Flex your ankle and use the inside arch of your foot.
- Chop down on the outside of the ball, cutting it tightly across your body.
- Push away with the outside of your other foot, or couple with an outside cut, to maximise the distance between the ball and defender.
- Accelerate in new direction, using good running with the ball technique.
