Session Focus – Dribbling
This is a fun skill practice which challenges all players to develop moving with the ball skills including dribbling, turning and running with the ball.
Primary Aims & Objectives
Develop player’s understanding of when to dribble and when to run with the ball.
Organisation
- Add safe-zones to either side of a square area.
- Place three defenders in the central area. Move attackers to one of the safe-zones.
- Attackers earn points by dribbling from one safe-zone to the other.
- Defenders can swap with an attacker if they can get a touch on the attacker’s ball.
Make It Easier
Adjust the number of defenders to give your attackers a fair chance of crossing the area.
Give strong defenders a ball so they have to dribble as well.
Make It Harder
Strong defenders must dispossess the attacker to earn a point.
