1000 Touches Warm-Up

Session Focus – Dribbling

This is a very simple set-up which you can use whilst your players are arriving to get them moving around and developing their touch on the ball from the minute your soccer coaching session begins.

Primary Aims & Objectives

Develop the techniques used to move with the ball, including dribbling, turning and running with the ball.
Soccer Coaching Warmup Dribbling Drill

Organisation

  • Set-up a square area.
  • Every player has a ball and dribbles around the area.
  • Encourage players to use different parts of their feet, different turns and different speeds.

Make It Easier

Demonstrate some examples if players cannot think of different turns themselves.
Ask players to team up and teach each other new tricks or movements.

Make It Harder

Ask stronger players to move as quickly as possible whilst keeping the ball under close control.
Challenge clever players to come up with 5 different turns or invent a new turn.
